A wonderful book is authored by an English author, Mary Wood: The
Craft of Temari, published by Search Press ( this is my
personal favorite for inspiration of the English books - ). Four books
have
been written by Diana Vandervoort: Temari,
Temari
Traditions, Temari
Treasures, and Temari
Adventures. All are published by Japan Publications. Temari
- A Traditional Japanese Embroidery Technique by Margaret
Ludlow, published by Guild of Master Craftsman Publications is good for
beginners. Another book is by Anna Diamond, Temari Book. All books are
obtainable through major book retailers such as Barnes
and Noble.com , Amazon.com and some needlework shops - they may be
available
at your local library. For a professional librarian's reviews of the
English
book click here.
(Please
note - these books are linked directly to Barnes and Noble.com -
purchasing through
these links, BN homepage and Amazon.com links is in cooperation with PuffinStuff, Inc.,
)
Temari
is making it into needlework magazines
too. There
have been several beautiful how-to articles written by Janet Donelly of
Australia.
Embroidery & Cross Stitch Magazine (Vol. 4, No 4) has a great
beginner's
article including instructions for 3 designs called "Golden
Temari".
Other articles are featured in the Inspirations Magazine - No. 20
(Chrysanthemum
Ball) and No. 25 (Wild Swan Egg).
